Who can be a telepsychiatrist for my organization?

Psychiatrists & APRNs: Any psychiatrist (MD/DO) or Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) with a state license in Rhode Island can provide care via telepsychiatry.

How does reimbursement work for telepsychiatry in Rhode Island?

Each telepsychiatry session generates the standard CPT codes for outpatient psychiatric services.

Medicaid
During the COVID public emergency, there is no restriction on the location of the client receiving service whether in the clinic, at their residence, or out in the community.

Medicare
During the COVID public emergency, clinics billing for telehealth no longer need to be in a HPSA (Health Provider Shortage Area).

What tech does my organization need?

Ameet Katkar has been a Clinic Partnerships Manager at Genoa Telepsychiatry since 2018. Committed to increasing access to care for underserved populations, Ameet has implemented telemedicine programs within community mental health centers, Federally Qualified Health Centers, hospitals, primary care facilities and substance use disorder programs across the United States. Prior to joining Genoa, he was a Clinical Liaison for the Connecticut Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services, managing supportive housing programs for young adults with serious mental illness.
